Mental health nursing and social inclusion
Discrimination against people with mental health problems gives rise to social exclusion. A vicious cycle is established which prevents people from developing their talents, decreases self confidence and exacerbates the mental health problems themselves. Mental health nurses have a role in promoting social inclusion and some of the strategies that can be used are outlined in this article.
