Most nursing staff won’t get paid extra hour when clocks go back

As British Summer Time ends on Sunday 26 October, many NHS night-shift nurses will work an extra unpaid hour. A Nursing Standard poll on Instagram found 91% nursing staff said they will not be paid for the additional hour. Staff report exhaustion, safety risks and confusion over pay, as no national NHS guidance covers this issue, leaving decisions to local employers.
