NMC to consider first fee rise for nurses in a decade
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) will be asked to approve a public consultation on raising its annual registration fee for nursing professionals, which has been frozen at £120 since 2015. The move follows plans to cut 145 jobs at the NMC. The regulator says that financial and workload pressures have made the decade-long freeze unsustainable, and explains how any fee increase will be used, including on culture reform and service upgrades. It also explains when the proposed fee increase would be revealed.
